Our First Lady.
Rev. Kimberly Colbert is a native of Louisville, Kentucky born to the late Herbert and Louise Morris. She is married to her long-time friend of 40 years, H. Wayne Colbert. To this union they have four lovely children [Brandi, Damon, J’Keeta and Jermaine] and twelve beautiful grandchildren.
Rev. Kimberly Colbert, known to many as “Kim,” is a graduate of Jefferson Country public schools. She has a Bachelor Business Administrative (Management) Sullivan University and studied Biblical Studies and Christian Counseling at Boyce Bible College. She is currently enrolled in the MSW Program, Campbellsville University [Louisville].
Rev. Kim Colbert, is licensed and ordained to preach the Gospel. In 2009, with a Servant’s Heart she was led to join the team at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky (Career Coach, Supervisor) to serve those who are disabled or at a disadvantage. She is also a volunteer with Kentucky Girls Scouts of American, Troop Leaders #1387. For over 25 years, she has served in the Louisville community, especially those who are at a disadvantage in life. She has been honored to receive several nominations for the Mayor’s Good Citizen Award.
Rev. Kim Colbert, is known as “a woman after God’s own heart.” She has been privileged to speak near and abroad at various Women’s Conferences/Retreat, Marriage and Single’s Conferences, Pastor’s Anniversaries, the J.L. Robert’s School of Religion and many Workforce Development/Leadership Trainings. She is the Co-Author of the book “Make It Last Forever.”
Rev. Kim Colbert, considers it an honor to serve along-side her husband in ministry at Kingdom Land Baptist Church, where he serves as pastor. She is a hard working First Lady, who believes a First Lady, should be just that “First”, not just in title, but in service. She serves in the Education, Prison and Women’s Ministries. She is the Program Director for the church’s Women of Worth, Transitional House. She, is very active in serving her community working with various penal institute in our state to assist those who are returning to their community and those who are on government assistance seeking to transition from welfare to work by providing all with Job Readiness and Employment Coaching to move them out of poverty.
Rev. Kim Colbert is truly a Disciple of Christ who has answered the call of God. She is unapologetic and unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The love she has for God is shown through her service with a smile and love for people. Her favorite scriptures are John 9:4 “I must work the work of Him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh, when no man can work.” and Matthew 25:40 “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, in as much as you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.”
Rev. Kimberly Colbert’s life motto is “If I can help one somebody, while I travel this life’s journey; then my living is not in vain.”
